The interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the UCSD campus makes for an environment of substantial depth and breadth, vibrant with the excitement of exploration and invention.  Our educational philosophy is to give students an opportunity to go beyond the core curriculum and pursue electives and independent study that take full advantage of the resources available at UCSD and in the surrounding region, helping them to become expert clinicians and scientists who are aware of, and responsive to, community needs.

 

Located on the main campus of the University in La Jolla, the School of Medicine is surrounded by academic resources and research institutions representing a variety of disciplines.  Clinical instruction takes place throughout the San Diego area, at the UC San Diego Medical Center, the VA San Diego Healthcare System, the Naval Regional Medical Center, and the Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, as well as seven other affiliated hospitals and clinics.

All applicants to UCSD School of Medicine must submit an AMCAS application between the official application time period of June 1, 2007 to November 1, 2007. Deadline extensions cannot be granted for submission of this application.

 

Applicants will be notified by email if approved for a secondary application. You will be able to access the secondary application through the link on the status-check page. Do not send any supplementary information (i.e. letters of recommendation) until you have been approved for a secondary application.
