Register Now for Medical Alumni Weekend
September 19-21, 2008

Every five years, medical alumni and their families are invited to return to campus in the fall for a fun weekend filled with opportunities to reconnect with former classmates and reminisce about their experiences at UCSD SOM.

Reunions will be held this year for the classes of 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2003, and will take place at the Catamaran Resort Hotel on Mission Bay, San Diego.  The Reunion kicks off Friday evening with an all-class welcome reception at the home of Dr. Mia Savoia, Vice Dean for Medical Education. On Saturday, the Hospitality Suite will host individual classes, and there is a 3.75 CME seminar, an afternoon beach party and picnic, and a luau dinner to fill the day. Sunday, alumni are encouraged to arrange a brunch for their individual classes. 

Through the Reunion Giving Campaign, alumni have the opportunity to contribute to their class scholarship fund, which provides scholarships to help outstanding and deserving students attend medical school at UCSD.

Hotel Accommodations

The Catamaran Resort Hotel offers casual elegance in a tropical paradise with acres of lush foliage and sun drenched beaches. Mission Bay is at your doorstep and the enticing waves of the Pacific Ocean are just 100 yards away. Located just 15 minutes from the San Diego International Airport, it features a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, spa and health club and water sports rentals including sailboats, sailboards, catamarans and paddle boats. Nearby, there are bicycles, roller skates, boogey boards and surfboards for rent.

The Catamaran Resort Hotel offers 315 rooms with bay, garden and ocean views. There are restaurants and lounges on the grounds that offer live entertainment. There is a brand new 93,000 square foot full service Spa and luxury health club located in the Catamaran Resort. It features 10 treatment rooms, Vichy shower room, Ritual Room, couples treatment room, full service men’s and women’s locker/dressing rooms with sauna and steam room, outdoor whirlpool, full service salon, and 900 square foot fitness facility with indoor cardio areas.

A limited block of rooms has been reserved at the special discount rate of $179 for single or double occupancy, plus applicable state and local taxes. Discounted rates apply until the reservation deadline of August 15, 2008, or until all rooms in the group block have been reserved, whichever occurs first. Once the room block has been filled, discounted group rates may not be available. We encourage you to make your reservation early.
