Remote Access - Overview
Internet Access
High speed connectivity is essential since the Internet is a critical tool for accessing curricular and administrative resources and for communicating with faculty, staff, and fellow students at the UCSD School of Medicine.
Students are responsible for connecting their home computers to the internet. Within the Computer Requirements site under internet access, there is information that may help you review the various options available and provides links to the internet service providers (ISPs) in this area.
Novell File Access
MedEd uses a Novell-based INTRAnet for a variety of functions, as described in the Accounts section of this site. When you are at Campus or at any MedEd Student Computing Facility you can: 1) save files to your Novell personal drive [ the "I: drive"]; 2) retrieve/save files to a Novell "shared" student drive [ the "S: drive"]; and 3) share files with classmates on the "S: drive". You can also access these Novell drives from home or while working from campus on your laptop. To do so, you have two options:- Novell Client
- Novell NetStorage
