Curriculum Committees

Committee on Educational Policy

The Committee on Educational Policy (CEP) represents the Faculty in all educational matters, especially regarding the curriculum for undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education, and other aspects of educational policy.

Core Curriculum Committee

The Core Curriculum Committee (CCC) regularly reviews all required core courses to ensure the course content fulfills accrediting requirements. The CCC also ensures that each course has clearly defined learning objectives and that students are clearly informed of the methods and criteria used for evaluation. The CCC recommends to CEP that curriculum which should be required of all undergraduate medical students, and identifies and recommends to the CEP the time that should be allocated to each course.

For further information, please contact Maria Randerson at mranderson@ucsd.edu

Electives Committee

The Electives Committee (EC) regularly reviews elective courses to ensure the course content fulfills accrediting requirements. The EC also ensures that each course has clearly defined learning objectives and that students are clearly informed of the methods and criteria used for evaluation. The EC makes recommendations to the CEP concerning elective courses and administration of the undergraduate requirement for satisfactory completion of the elective component of the curriculum (including the Independent Study Project).
